ADVENTURE

ADVANTAGE

ASCI

The Adventure Sports Center International sits atop Marsh Mountain in McHenry overlooking Deep Creek Lake. It is also adjacent to WISP Ski resort that attracts thousands of guests during the snowy season.

ASCI is home to one of three man-made white water courses in the Nation that treats recreational rafters to a controlled water experience depending on level of expertise. The course also welcomed over 300 athletes from 42 countries for the 2014 Canoe Kayak World Championships. Competitors were impressed with the course and anxious to return for future events. The sport is relatively young in the U.S. and with more exposure could become the next sports sensation.

Benefits

The facility is currently owned by the county and is on the market. It includes a 0,000 square foot main building, large outdoor pavilion and the water reservoir and whitewater course. This is branding potential to reach a specific market interest and expand on a business that has yet to be fully exploited.

The on-site Pavilion is an impressive outdoor structure that could house outdoor gatherings such as weddings, corporate retreats, and private parties. The backdrop of the rushing water and mountain top appeal brings added value. The county is anxious to sell the facility that they have no interest in maintaining. It has dedicated employees and management and is self-sustaining with tourist use. It is valued at roughly $650,000 and grant loans that could be forgiven by xxxx.

Some destination upgrades could include a restaurant, coffee shop, retail space and/or zip-line and rock wall.
